KidzPlay Sports Ministry was founded in Southern California by Dr. Paul Steen. The concepts grew out of the founder's passion for evangelism and his background in organized youth sports.

KidzPlay is unique in its focus on reaching adults through youth sports. Here's what Showboat Robinson of the Harlem Road Kings said about KidzPlay, "I have seen thousands of youth sports leagues across America in my career.  I believe KidzPlay is the premier youth sports program in America." 

OUR ROOTS

KidzPlay Sports Ministry was founded in response to a desire to reach a changing community for Christ. After fifteen months of planning and praying, the concept was introduced to a local church. The KidzPlay Sports concept uses proven strategies to reach families and adults with the gospel. It is unique in its approach to using sports to reach adults for evangelistic purposes.

OUR FOUNDER

As founder, Dr. Steen brought both his years of experience in organized youth sports and his love for lost people together to create a new perspective in sports evangelism. The unique KidzPlay concepts emerged out of a planning process that took over fifteen months to complete. The founder started from scratch as he rethought everything he knew about youth sports with outreach and evangelism in mind.

Dr. Steen has served in local church ministry since 1970. He teaches sports ministry courses at a seminary and is a senior pastor. He has taught evangelism classes and led evangelism teams in urban and suburban settings. He loves working in crosscultural environments. He has served on many Christian ministry boards. He is an adjunct professor at Talbot School of Theology, Biola University in La Mirada, California. His passion is to reach the lost world with the gospel of Christ and see people's lives changed as a result.

Dr. Steen earned an MA in Biblical and Theological Studies as well as his Ph.D. in Christian Education with an emphasis in Ministry Leadership from Talbot School of Theology, Biola University in California.
